I’m Sophie. Mum, founder, deep thinker, big feeler and strengths champion.

I “grew up” in the world of FMCG brand marketing, working for global businesses such as Mars and Danone, gaining experience across the full marketing mix and progressing to Marketing Director roles.

I loved marketing. I loved being at the heart of the business, I loved getting my teeth stuck into strategic challenges and I loved the creative buzz I got from leading iconic brands like evian.

But what I loved even more than the marketing itself, was helping marketers to thrive. I could see that the most successful brands and teams, were the ones who grew from the inside out. The ones that understood who they were and where they played best, who could tune into the dynamics of a team or organisation and recognise how they could effectively make the impact they wanted.

And yet, having the space and time to figure this out is challenging. Having the freedom to balance who you are as an individual with what is expected from you as a leader within a business is challenging. Finding the energy and clarity to define what you want in your career and how you can progress successfully in your own way is challenging.

In 2021, I founded kharaktēr with a mission to help marketers to amplify their impact and have happier careers. I work in partnership with businesses to help them unlock their marketing potential through leadership and culture consulting and coaching their leaders on a 1:1 basis. I help marketers to understand that just like the brands they lead, they too are unique. They do not need to put themselves in a box to succeed. In fact, stepping outside of the box is where they are most likely to leave their mark and feel good in their work.
